How conflict statuses are computed
Every tracked conflict is re-evaluated automatically on each full analysis cycle. Recorded events from the last 30 days are compared against the previous 30-day window: a rise of 25% or more marks a conflict ESCALATING, a fall of 25% or more marks it COOLING, and everything in between holds ACTIVE. Casualty figures come from the same event-level records. No number on this page is written by hand.
When event-level data is unavailable, the tracker falls back to global coverage monitoring and clearly flags reduced precision rather than inventing figures.
